Sketches

This is a sketch of a mechanical object done to show the intricacy of the bicycle's chain.

This is a sketch of an organic object done to show the natural intricacy of a Vulture's skull.

These are three sketches of mechanical (man made) objects that I found in my room. The first is a thin blue wrist watch, the second is a green PEN+GEAR pen and the third is one of my running shoes from senior year.

These are three sketches of organic objects that I found at my house. The first one is a representation of one of my blue budgies sleeping because it was the only way to draw her while being still for a few minutes. The second one is of a succulent and a moon cactus that I have sitting next to the window of my room and the third one is of my neighbor's cat, Milkyway, that I caught sleeping in my backyard.

These six drawings represent objects that I see in a class or on my way to class and are reproduced from direct observation. The objects seem simple when they are not closely observed however the amount of detail increases as one attempts to render it as closely as possible with a gray scale using graphite.

These are 6 hands drawn from direct observation and capture the "life" of each hand.

These are 6 eyes drawn from direct observation and capture the "life" of each eye.

These are 6 noses drawn form direct observation and capture the "life" of each nose.

This is a combination of 6 sketches of mechanical and organic figures in animated forms which not only show characteristics, but also conveys movement.
